At the Wilmington Senior Center, we want you to live well. That’s why we offer an array of health promotion and fitness activities to keep you in good shape…for your family, your friends, and your future.
We know you need more than information before adopting a healthier lifestyle – you need inspiration. Keeping you motivated and moving forward is the driving force behind our health and wellness initiatives.
Exercising is easier and more fun when you do it with a friend. Strength training, line dancing and Tai Chi classes provide exercise opportunities for multiple fitness levels. If you prefer staying in shape on your own, you can use equipment in our Fitness Center that’s open all day.
News about healthy living, medical breakthroughs and disease prevention fills the airwaves and newspapers. We help you figure out what’s most important for you by hosting workshops with health experts and including useful tips in our printed and online newsletters.
Regularly scheduled screenings for a variety of medical conditions can help you see if your health is jeopardized in any way. Referrals to local providers are made when risks are detected. We also help you avoid getting sick by offering flu shots each year.
Christiana Care Health Services provides a Family Medicine Office at the Senior Center. For more information, click here or contact them directly at 302-421-2700.
Boost your brain power with our mental fitness programs that include games, puzzles, cultural presentations and creative expression through the arts. Being physically active is also good for your mind, preventing memory loss and slower thinking.
