Something for everyone – something for you! Wilmington Senior Center provides a wide variety of fun and inspiring activities to give you a chance to relax, rewind or revitalize.
We regularly offer trips to local areas of interest, entertainment, culture and shopping. These trips take our busy travelers to places such as Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Delaware Art Museum, Cowtown, Philadelphia Flower Show and Sight and Sound extravaganzas. Overnight trips are also coordinated each year.
Our classes offer the opportunity to do the things you already enjoy or learn something new. There is computer training for the tech-savvy…or the technically challenged. There is gardening for those who like to get their hands dirty. There are classes in sewing and quilting for those who like to keep their hands busy. There are Bible studies for those who prefer to keep their hands clean. There are water colors for those who like to start with a blank canvas. And there are plenty of arts and crafts classes for those who want to end up with something on display. In fact, hands off or hands on, our curriculum is as open as your mind.
The Center’s activities give you lots to do. If you’re a fitness buff, exercise classes and a fitness center are available. For the digitally-inclined, there is Wii bowling, golf and tennis. If you prefer the great outdoors, there are State Park hikes, fishing and ball games. If the great indoors is more your thing, we offer a social calendar laden with teas, dances, movies and parties. Bingo is played three afternoons a week. The Black History Club meets monthly, as does our Red Hat Society, the Sassy Cardinals.
